Restaurante Xoko is a Spanish-Mediterranean and seafood restaurant on the Via Interamericana at the Santa Clara turnoff, on the ocean side of Panama’s Pacific beach corridor. Opened in 2009, it has a spacious, nautical-themed dining room and serves tapas, salads, paella, fresh fish, calamari and Mediterranean dishes, with fish cooked in a large wood-fired oven behind the restaurant. The menu and setting draw on the owners’ Spanish culinary background, offering an alternative to the area’s more typical seafood shacks and beach grills. Its location just off the highway makes it an easy stop for travelers heading to or from Santa Clara, Farallon and the resorts further down the coast.
